Who we help
Accounting for E-Commerce Sellers in Bulgaria
E-commerce is the hardest accounting we do, and the area where we most often find that a previous accountant simply booked the marketplace payout as revenue. That single shortcut misstates your revenue, your fees, your VAT and your profit — and it is invisible until someone looks.
What usually goes wrong
Marketplace payouts are not revenue
An Amazon or Shopify settlement nets gross sales against commission, advertising, refunds, shipping and reserves. Each component has a different VAT treatment. Booking the net figure produces accounts that cannot survive scrutiny.
You are probably registered in the wrong places
Distance selling above the EU threshold requires OSS registration or local VAT registrations. Holding stock in another member state — including via marketplace fulfilment programmes — creates a local registration obligation regardless of OSS.
Volume breaks manual bookkeeping
Thousands of low-value transactions per month cannot be processed invoice by invoice. It needs a data pipeline from your platform into the ledger, reconciled to the cent against each payout.
What correct e-commerce accounting looks like here
We import transaction-level data from your platforms, classify each line by VAT treatment and destination country, and reconcile every payout to the underlying orders, fees and refunds. Your ledger then reflects gross revenue and each cost category separately, which is what both the tax authority and your own decision-making require.
From that base, OSS returns are a byproduct rather than an estimate. So is knowing your actual margin per channel, which most sellers we meet cannot currently produce.
Stock, fulfilment and where you owe VAT
If your inventory sits in a warehouse in Germany, Poland or the Czech Republic — including through a marketplace fulfilment network that moves it without asking you — you have created a taxable presence there. OSS does not cover this; it requires local VAT registration in each country where stock is held.
We map where your goods physically are before we file anything, because this is the most expensive mistake in EU e-commerce and it accrues quietly.

Frequently asked questions
Can I run my e-commerce business through a Bulgarian company?
Yes, and the 10% corporate rate is a genuine advantage. Your VAT obligations, however, follow where your customers and your stock are — not where your company is registered — so the structure needs to be planned around your fulfilment model.
Do I need OSS registration?
If you sell goods B2C across EU borders above the EU-wide distance selling threshold, yes. OSS lets you report all cross-border B2C sales through a single Bulgarian return instead of registering in each country — but it does not cover countries where you hold stock.
How do you handle Amazon settlement reports?
We import them at transaction level and reconcile each payout to its underlying orders, commissions, advertising costs, refunds and reserves. Gross revenue and each fee category are booked separately, which is the only treatment that holds up under inspection.
What if I have been booking payouts as revenue for years?
It can be restated. We rebuild the affected periods from platform data, quantify the VAT and corporate tax difference and correct the filings. It is more work than doing it right initially, but it is a bounded problem.
